I got mixed reviews for this costume.

Massage bed
I got a pleasant (or unpleasant, I guess that depends on your perspective) surprise today when I walked into one of my client's home. I saw that she had set up a massage bed on the floor of her dining room. She told me that she wanted to try something different. She wanted her massage on the bed instead of the portable massage table that I brought with me.
These were the thoughts that came to mind when I saw the bed:
Obviously I couldn't read her mind. But I got the impression that she had something more than a massage in her mind.
I admit that Ms. P is a good looking woman. Maybe a bit too flirtatious. But it was in fun, at least that was how I always treated her flirtations. I always played along. It lightens up the atmosphere. And it is good for business. But it felt different and a bit awkward this time.
I don't want to sound like a prude, but there is a line that must not be crossed. I conduct my business in a professional manner. Ms. P was well aware of my code of professional conduct. Nevertheless, I was expecting the best but preparing for the worst case scenario as she disrobed for the massage session.
The line wasn't crossed, but it easily could have been. So many mixed signals. I don't doubt that she was open to something more than a massage. I am not going to go into any more detail, but I have to say that this session felt more intimate.
She was good natured about the situation at the end of the session. We both laughed it off.
Maybe I should cover myself up more and not show so much skin the next time I go to her house.

Heat wave
It has been really hot these past several days. We are in the midst of an October heat wave.
We are not suppose to take off our shirts during our shifts. But you got to do what you got to do to stay cool. Besides I was technically on my lunch break.
This dude, who was a guest at the resort, went for the minimalist look to stay cool.

I gave him a massage earlier in the day. I thought it was somewhat odd that he wanted to strip in front of me.

Dress for the client
You heard of the phrase "dress for the occasion". I "dress for the client".
Once I know what my client's personality is, more or less, and what his/her likes and dislikes are, I wear what I think will be pleasing to the client. It is definitely not an exact science though.
I prefer not to wear the stereotypical whitish garb that one might associate with a massage therapist. I want the client to be excited and to be in an upbeat mood when he/she sees me. I feel that the right clothing can contribute to that.
On my way to meet a client who lives near venice beach.
This client is eclectic like the scene on the promenade along venice beach. I wore an artsy tank top, shoes and cap for our massage session. He actually made a cheerful remark about my outfit. I was so glad to hear that.
There is really no way I can truly tell if the clothes that I wear to a massage session makes a difference in creating a positive atmosphere, but it doesn't hurt to try. Once in a while, a client will comment on my clothes. And never have I gotten a negative reaction.

Landscaping
Here in California, we are having a drought, as you may already know. The state and local governments are encouraging (and in some cases, ordering) Californians to reduce their water consumption.
One of the suggestions for reducing water use is for homeowners to replace their water guzzling lawns with plants and vegetation that can flourish with a minimal amount of moisture.
I recently got hired by an organization that is trying to get that message out to various homeowner communities. I was hired to model, to pose in a landscape of drought resistant plants. The images are to be used in pamphlets sent out to various communities.
There were other models at the photoshoot besides myself. I noticed a lot of diversity among the models. I guess they wanted a diverse ethnic makeup in order to reach as many different communities as possible. California is quite diverse, there's no question about that.
