shelter

This is one more item that I want to post.

My daily routine was disrupted recently because my landlord needed to make some renovations to the building.

I had to find another place to crash for that short period of time. My landlord did give me a break on the rent.

A buddy of mine, Ryan, came to my rescue. He let me crash at his place.

He lives in a very nice upscale apartment complex. I didn't get the artificial turf on the balcony or inside the apartment complex though.

temporarily, where the magic happened

The temporary living arrangement made me seriously consider looking for a new place to live.

sand boarding

Have you ever tried sand boarding?

I sand boarded recently on a trip to a desert in Baja.

It is like snow boarding except that you're riding down sand dunes. It was awesome.

tijuana

A few months ago, I was hired by a person for some modeling work. Along the way, this person also became a client of my massage therapy business. The relationship started as a professional working relationship and it turned into something personal as well.

I guess you can say we have mixed business and pleasure.

This person does business in Mexico as well as in the USA. I was invited a number of times to this person's second home in Tijuana.

I spent a lot of my free time recently around Tijuana.

Exploring the local street scene of a neighborhood of Tijuana.

It was my turn to receive a soothing massage. It felt great.

Quirks of the client 2

I am not sure if I should label this next situation as a quirk of a client. But this particular client sometimes pays for my services for an entire day, even when I'm not actually doing any massage.

I am sort of on retainer to this client for that particular day.

An entire day spent with a client.

His reason for keeping me on retainer for an entire day, he tells me, is for stress relief. Some days he has multiple intense meetings with his business clients or partners throughout the day. And he likes to have his stress relieving massage sessions between those meetings.

It feels odd loafing around my clients place for an entire day. But I get paid for it, so I shouldn't complain.

Quirks of the client

I'm sure that, where you work, you have to deal with (or be amused) with the quirks of your coworkers, customers or clients.

One of my clients always comes to a massage session sweaty and, sometimes, stinky.

The thing is, this client always schedules his sessions after his workout. He loves to have his body worked on after coming home from the gym.

waiting for the late arriving client

Some times the client would run a bit late. Of course, I would be on time for our sessions. And so, I would have to wait for him to arrive home from the gym.

Usually, he would let me in through the front door while he would go in through the garage.

sweaty and smelly client

waiting

I deal with the sweatiness and smell because I get paid for it. Usually, a client would sweat during a session anyway, but still it is not exactly the same.

He's a good natured client, so it's no big deal. We joke about it sometimes.

By the way, he gave me permission to take and post these photos of him, if I wanted to use them for my advertisement or for client testimonials.

He lives in a very nice house.
