Palm trees on my body

When you think of LA, what comes to mind?

Hollywood? Disneyland? Beaches? the Dodgers? Congested Freeways? Smog? Maybe all of them?

Did palm trees come to your mind? You can see palm trees all over the place. Palm trees are so LA.

Anyway, I bought this palm tree themed shirt the other day. Palm trees all over my body. What do you think? Does it look good?

I actually wasn't thinking about LA or anything of the kind when I saw the shirt on the rack. I just thought it looked cool, which is why I bought it. The LA and palm tree stuff came to my mind as I started to write this post.

It seems like every other entry in my blog is about my being at the beach doing something or another or nothing at all. I hope you're not bored by it all.

My friend caught me sleeping on the beach with this dog. He thought it looked so cute. The dog was gone by the time I woke up. I just wanted to share this picture with you.

Try not to fall asleep at the beach. You never know what you might miss.

rough neighborhood

I met up with my pal Greg this morning. He treated me to breakfast, for a favor that I did for him the other day.

Maybe I should remind you of who Greg is. He is also a model. A much more successful model than I am, I should say. I always enjoy our time together. He always gives me good tips and advice about modelling and about the industry.

He lives in a rough part of town.

There is a café near his place that doesn't look like much, but it serves a hearty pancake.

I admire his fashion sense. He seems to always have on an outfit that gets him noticed.

He took me on a quick tour of his neighborhood.

This party warehouse was a bright spot in the neighborhood.

Sunday activities

I hope you all had a fantastic Sunday.

I was hoping for a work free day today. But it was not to be.

I wanted to hang out with my buds today. I don't always have the same days off as they do. Today should have been one of those days. Should've, could've. But it wasn't, at least not completely.

Although I didn't have a completely free day today, it wasn't a full day of work either. So I was able to fit my friends into part of the day. Thank goodness for that. Sometimes, I wish that I had a regular 9 to 5 type of work schedule.

I went to the beach with my pals Ryan and Jen. I never get tired of the beach especially when I'm with good pals. We got there early in the morning. I managed to get those two to wake up early on a Sunday. I didn't have time to waste.

Of course, when I am hanging out with Ryan, we almost always seem to wind up at a gym. It was a fun day while it lasted.

I cleaned up at the locker room at the gym. I don't particularly like to shower and wash up at the gym, but I didn't have time to drive all the way back home and then get to my client's place.

By the way, do you like my stache?  Ryan has been encouraging me to let my facial hair grow out. He has been sporting a sort of chinstrap beard. I decided to shave it off before I went to meet my client. I think clients and potential customers prefer a clean shaven massage therapist.

leaving the gym. checking my schedule, to see where I am suppose to be next.

in my work clothes. I was going for the blue collar look.

The client made the appointment on Friday. I couldn't say no. Well, I actually could have. But I didn't. For now, I got to put business ahead of pleasure.

Where am I?

Where as in ware house.

warehouse district
Sometimes my job takes me to the remote corners of LA.

Some clients want to get their massage session at their place of work instead of at home. This particular client works in a warehouse. He runs the place so he has his own private office space there.

The area surrounding the warehouse is full of other warehouses, as you probably already expected. It is a very quiet area. Hardly anyone around. At night it gets really spooky.

I like to take in the peace and quiet before I head back out onto the freeway and into the traffic.

A day at the beach

What could be better than spending the fourth of July holiday at the beach, right?

I did go to the beach on the fourth, but it felt more like a business trip than fun. First of all, I spent most of my time that day at the beach with strangers. Not exactly fun.

Meagan's friend Sophia, who is a fashion consultant, invited Meagan for an independence day shindig in Huntington Beach. Sophia told Meagan that she wanted to meet the guy who has been modeling Meagan's clothing lines. And who would that be? Moi.

I did it for Meagan. It was at the beach after all, and I figured it would be a good opportunity to do some networking. Getting to know new people in this industry can only be a good thing.

As you can see, Sophia was quite fashionable. But also quite overdressed for the beach.

I guess I should have been flattered that someone wanted to meet me because of my impressive modeling skills. ;)  And I was. I even wore my newest shorts, hoping to impress her. But once the initial meeting was over, it became boring.

karaoke? trying to have a good time

Sophia's entourage. I never met these people before.
I finally got to leave. I headed down to Laguna beach to check out the scene there before heading back to the city.

These hombres, who were trying to sell their arts and crafts stuff, wanted to pose with me. I felt like a piece of meat. I wasn't for sale. lol
